Mogli

“What music makes visible, what images make audible.” The relationship between image and music lies at the heart of the work of Yacine Blaïech, aka Mogli. A passionate vinyl collector, he first dreamed of designing record covers, which led him into graphic design. Driven by a desire to explore new creative worlds, he began infusing his visual work with a strong sense of musicality. As a self-taught VJ (video jockey), Yacine developed immersive audio-visual experiences, exploring the dialogue between sound and image, between what can be seen through listening and what can be heard through seeing. Through his connection with Analog Africa, Yacine eventually stepped behind the decks and became DJ Mogli. Deeply influenced by African music and the rich grooves of funk introduced to him by Samy Ben Redjeb, as well as sounds from other parts of the world such as Latin America, DJ Mogli crafts eclectic and vibrant sets that bridge continents, cultures, and rhythms.
